Notice "SHE" told Cheryl Knight, that it was outside of our budget....Who took it upon themselves to make that call without consulting the UCM.........This is totally unacceptable. Who did this?

USOT Conference » Projected Date » 2/19/2015 8:56 pm

Hi Michael, thank you for requesting our availability and pricing for the July meeting.  I spoke with someone in your organization a week ago, and she indicated to me that our pricing is possibly outside of the budget.  Can you confirm with me the room rate that you are seeking, and what you anticipate to spend for the meeting/banquet requirements?

If you have not already heard, we are undergoing renovations through the end of August so that we can become a full service Hilton Hotel.  What this means is our space and rooms are slightly limited during the July dates, and it impacts our price on the guestrooms.

Any information that you can share with me would be very helpful in determining if we are a good fit for your program.

Kind regards,
 Cheryl Knight

The Non-Profit Board President

Job Description
In addition to presiding over board and executive committee meetings, the non-profit board president has a variety of responsibilities. As “chief volunteer,” the president works with the CEO, board, staff and community to further the organization’s mission. A president influences how the board uses its time, the selection of board members and its future leadership. Anyone taking on this role must be committed to the organization and must understand the scope of energy and time required to effectively do the job.

Expectations
The president is expected to review and understand the organization's articles of incorporation and by-laws, policies and procedures, financial and legal situation, and strategic plan. As the board ambassador, the president acts as a spokesperson to the larger community. She speaks in public on behalf of the organization and advocates for the cause. By modeling appropriate behavior, the president sets high standards for board conduct and intervenes if conflicts of interest or confidentiality issues arise.

Duties
Working with the board's governance committee, the president recruits new board members whose vision aligns with the organization. The president appoints committee chairs and serves ex officio on committees. The president is in charge of CEO and board member performance evaluations and succession planning, and plays a crucial role in new board member orientation. He also creates opportunities for continuing education for board members and mentors the president-elect.

Vision and Fund Raising

Wait, I have a question. What is Money Management, what is this class geared to teach and what some good books dealing with finances and economy that we can use for this class?

What are our convention meeting prices for the hotel room (being that we are booking 50 rooms we need to know the group rate)...
We need an estimate of pricing 50 Rooms plus catering and we need pricing on 50 rooms without catering service?
How much is the group rate for 50 rooms with two conference rooms and how much is the group rate with one conference room?
What is the deadline for final payment for our room reserved for the night of July 24th til the morning of July 26?
How much is two conference rooms for an entire day and a partial day until check out time?
How much is one conference room with a divider in the conference room?
What are the prices of plates, what's on the menu to choose between?
What is the maximum room occupancy per room?
What happens if we overbook by 5 rooms? 10 rooms? etc?
What is the refund policy for pre-registered guests that booked within our group rate?
